Chiropractic

Chiropractic is a drug and surgery free approach to health care that is focused on nerve, joint and musculoskeletal body systems with emphasis on spinal function. Most commonly people seek chiropractic care for joint and muscular problems such as low back pain, neck pain, headaches as well as upper or lower limb pain. Chiropractors assess these musculoskeletal and spinal dysfunctions and any associated effects that may occur within the nervous system. Impairment within the nervous system due to spinal dysfunction may lead to a number of other health concerns.

Chiropractors aim to remove this dysfunction by use of a chiropractic adjustment which can be delivered in a number of ways. Traditionally, adjustments are delivered by hand with the use of a high-velocity, low-amplitude thrust to restore movement to joints within the body that may not be functioning correctly. This type of adjustment can release gasses within the joint producing a popping sound.  Alternative methods involve special tools and tables designed to correct spinal dysfunction which will be discussed with you if required.

Physiotherapy

Myotherapy

Myotherapy treats both the immediate symptoms and the underlying cause, be it behavioural, postural, muscular imbalance or structural, by using a holistic and multi system approach. Treatment is individualised and assists to alleviate pain, improve function and increase performance for long-term results.

Myotherapy assists to reduce pain by dealing with the many mechanical causes such as trigger points within muscles, faulty movement patterns leading to increased load and pressure in your joints; and poor mobility which can also lead to compensatory movement patterns developing.

Myotherapy is an approach to care that may use several different treatment modalities including dry needling, deep tissue massage, cupping, taping and mobilisations. Sessions will often also include client education and exercise guidance.

Acupuncture

Applied Kinesiology

Applied kinesiology (AK) is also know as muscle strength testing, a method of diagnosis and treatment based on the belief that various muscles are linked to particular organs and glands, and that specific muscle weakness can signal distant internal problems such as nerve damage, reduced blood supply, chemical imbalances or other organ or gland problems.

Our use of applied kinesiology together with standard diagnostic procedures provides us with a holistic approach to your wellness. When evaluating your health, we will consider your structural, chemical and emotional condition. We look for the cause of your health problems and provide treatment especially suited to your needs. Applied kinesiology is a fantastic method for determining causes of recurring spinal dysfunction and other health complications.
